Casey's Choice

Say what you will about Casey Jones, be it the complete psycho who believes that jaywalking is a capital offense from the original cartoon, or the loveable doof from the 200x series, or any of the in between. There is no denying that he has been a valuable ally to the Turtle teens in most variations.

Personally I view Casey Jones as kind of an in-between extremes. The guy is nuts, I mean he'd have to be to take on armed thugs using only sports equipment. I'd also view a bit of awkward doof in his characterizations with certain relationships (and no I do like the Casey/April pairing), such as being a single father to a preteen girl...in this case I'm referenceing Shadow Jones, his daughter (though not biologically from his short-lived marriage before his wife passed). He also would have to have some sense and skills to be able to have survived as long as he has with minimal damage, so I wouldn't view him as quite as aloof as his more common portrayal these days.

So in my little world I see Casey as a mid-30's guy who just wants to see his neighborhood stay safe. A guy who struggles with his choice as masked vigilante each night whenever he thinks of the daughter his deceased wife left him, and questions if he'll make it home each night.

So, here is Casey Jones de-masked, as he questions his choice once again before sliding that mask over his face and heading out into the streets...
